Welcome Valencia County Residents! Back To The Basics Learning Academy, located in beautiful Bosque Farms, NM has been formed to offer an alternative to our public schools as a result of the continued failure of the school system to produce a quality, educated student. As parents ourselves, we have been frustrated with the direction of the public schools and after speaking with many of you out there, we have found that we are not alone! With the negative cultural influences in our schools, the lack of high standards\expectations, and rules & policies that essentially take your voice away as parents, we decided to offer parents out there the wonderful opportunity to take advantage of having your child educated by an excellent, veteran school teacher who knows precisely how to teach our children effectively. We've been listening intently to the average parent out there and the common theme we hear is that you can't afford NOT to place your children in a home school environment! At the same time, however, you can't afford to home school your child without that second income. In some cases, parents don't feel like they are equipped to home school their child themselves In either case, we understand this quandary and are offering competitive prices, discount options and monthly installment plans. Another theme that we hear from you is that your child just isn't being challenged in the public school environment because the bar has been set so low that achievement in that system is useless. Rest assured, B2BLA will not hold your child back and we WILL challenge your child to be as great as their God given potential will let them be! Our curriculum will integrate solid, structured learning with emphasis on critical thinking and we will integrate teaching material from dozens and dozens of outstanding resources that have proven to be extremely effective.

As if these issues aren't enough, another huge theme parents complain about is the social culture that has developed in our schools from a peer standpoint. Unfortunately, sex, drugs, and the "thug" culture has permeated not only Valencia county's, but the entire U.S. school system and it is proving to be an insidious and destructive force that parents are struggling to combat, even with a good grounding in traditional values.

We would love nothing more than the resounding success of the public school system, as we've been part of a long tradition of public school educators for over 35 years, but unfortunately we have to face the facts and that is that the schools have deteriorated to the point where they are beyond broken and there is too much political wrangling (and the good side is losing!) to make any effective changes in the near future. We don't believe it's impossible, as we can fight to take back our schools someday. In the meantime, we can't wait any longer for our children, the time is NOW to affect change. This comes at a cost of course, but when you look at the alternative, there is no other choice.
